Take Your Blood Pressure at Home

Effectively taking your blood pressure at home is an important part of managing your blood pressure. Through this instruction by our very own Health And Wellness Coordinator Alison Jones, we’ll show you how to correctly take your blood pressure from the comfort of your home.

Remember to take your blood pressure twice a day – once in the morning before you eat and again at night. If the top number’s 130 or higher, or the bottom number’s 80 or above, that’s considered high blood pressure – also called hypertension. If the top number’s 180 or above, or the bottom one’s 120 or higher, call your doctor right away. And if you have chest or back pain, shortness of breath, numbness, weakness, vision changes or difficulty speaking, call 911 immediately.
